Venue Manager/ Duty Manager role

Sleep Out is looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to manage a new and exciting concept of childcare. You will become an integral part of the local community by ensuring that our children are having a fun and safe experience during every stay at Sleep Out.

Position- Venue Manager/ Duty Manager
HOURLY RATE: £11-15 per hour (dependent on experience and qualification)

Sleep Out is more than just a childcare service – it is a place for children to learn to sleep independently, take part in yoga and wellness activities, and enable them to meet new children in an exciting enviroment.
​
We encourage our managers to inject their energy and individual personality into their venue, to help build a safe, welcoming and inclusive space.
Key Deliverables

Carry out wellness/ self compassion lessons and yoga every evening as per the Sleep Out syllabus.

Support Operations Manager to create and implement new and exciting activities related to our learning outcomes.

Learn how to operate the safety systems, ensuring all children are scanned on and off site, and slots are bookable online for parents.

Create and build upon a friendly, welcoming and safe environment at your venue.

Risk assessment review on a weekly/per session basis.

Clean and tidy work premises.

Set up themed events around seasonal and religious celebrations.

Staffing, including hiring, rota scheduling and training.

Work closely with operations manager to ensure venue is running correctly. Inform management of any problems with the system.

Buy breakfast supplies for children.

Reporting of health and safety issues/accident reports.

Taking part in training and ensure they have read and understood all guidelines.

Carry out monthly staff training with all staff, ensuring a practice fire evacuation has been carried out.

Ensure hourly checks are carried out on the children throughout the night.

Ensure all children's profiles are scanned before administering any food or drink, to ensure specific allergy requirements are being met.

Minimum Requirements
All managers are required to carry a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare. We also require at least one qualified school teacher during every overnight stay.
Typical Hours
As we are a start up company the current hours will be a Friday and Saturday evening 5.45pm until 10.15am. This will begin as a zero hours contract which we will look to progress into a set hours contract as we grow as a company. This job is perfect if you have a part time job working with children, would like an additional income, and wish to become involved in an exciting new childcare experience.
